Today is Workers Memorial Day – an international day of remembrance and action for workers killed, disabled, injured or made unwell by their work. Today we remember why we are bothering to take on a corporate giant like UPS.

I know this is an uphill battle, and I know it won’t be easy to get them to change. But too many people will grieve today for friends and family members who work for UPS.

Package delivery drivers are put at risk every day during the summer months. These drivers give their all to their customers and their company, and they pay for it with their health and even their lives.

In honor of Workers Memorial Day, will you share your stories in the comments below? Here’s our story: After several days of delivering packages in the humid August heat, my husband Jim woke up feeling ill. Hours later, he was in the emergency room and his kidneys were failing. Jim was re-hydrated and stabilized by a team of doctors. He spent several days in the hospital. Nearly 15 years driving for this company, and no one from UPS even called to see how he was doing. I know that Jim is lucky to be alive.

What’s your story? Thank you in advance for sharing and supporting,

Theresa
