University Student He Tianci Fraudulently Adopted and Killed Three Cats in Suzhou, China 

He Tianci, an undergraduate student at Suzhou University of Science and Technology, obtained cats through the “Xianyu” platform under the guise of “adoption” and then abused them. On August 23, 2026, the person who had given the cat up for adoption reported the incident to the police. Officers and volunteers discovered the bodies of three cats at his home, while one cat was rescued. The scene was so horrific that the volunteers were traumatized.

When confronted by volunteers, He Tianci and his parents adopted a defiant attitude; not only did they show no remorse, but they also acted frivolously and claimed they had already contacted a lawyer to handle the matter. Even after the police arrived, a heated confrontation ensued between the two parties.

He Tianci’s actions not only undermine social ethics and the values of life education but also pose a significant threat to public safety. As an institution of higher learning, if Suzhou University of Science and Technology fails to address this matter seriously, it is tantamount to shielding a criminal and will be unable to account for its actions to the public or to the three lives lost. Universities should not tolerate students involved in serious cases of animal abuse remaining on campus. These animal abusers set a bad example for other students and pose a threat to people around them.

What We Ask

To date, Suzhou University of Science and Technology has not issued any official statement or apology. We solemnly demand that the university:

1. Expel He Tianci  who brutally killed the three cats

Immediately expel the student He Tianci in accordance with university regulations, showing absolutely no leniency, thereby establishing the disciplinary standard that “those who brutally kill animals are unfit to remain on campus.” Announce the results to the public.

2. Cooperate with judicial proceedings

The student He Tianci defrauded people into allowing him to adopt pets, illegally took possession of others’ pets, and brutally killed them. We call on judicial authorities to investigate and severely punish him in accordance with the law, setting a precedent with a landmark ruling.

3. Raise students’ awareness of animal protection

Speak out to the public, seek justice for the three lives that met such a tragic end, and urge the education system to reexamine its approach to life education.

苏州科技大学本科生何天赐诈骗领养并虐杀猫咪

苏州科技大学本科生何天赐通过“闲鱼”平台以“领养”名义获取猫咪，并虐杀猫。2026年8月23日，送养人报警，警方和志愿者在其家中发现3只猫尸体，另有1只猫获救。

何天赐及其家长在面对志愿者质疑时态度强硬，不仅毫无悔意，反而嬉戏打闹，并声称已联系律师处理此事。警方到场后，双方仍发生激烈冲突。

何天赐的行为不仅损毁社会公德和生命教育价值，更对社会治安造成重大威胁。苏州科技大学作为高等学府，若不正视此事，无异于包庇犯罪，无法向社会大众和三条生命交代。

高校不应该容忍涉及重大虐待动物案件的学生继续留在学校，至今苏州科技大学没有发表任何官方通告或者道歉。我们郑重要求学校：

1. 开除虐杀动物学生何天赐
立即依校规对何姓学生予以开除学籍处理，绝不姑息养奸，以此确立“虐杀动物者不适合继续留校”的校规惩罚标准，形成震慑作用。

2. 协助司法程序
何姓学生诈骗领养，非法占有他人宠物进行虐杀，呼吁司法机构依法进行调查和严惩，形成标志型判决案例。

3.  提升学生动保意识
向社会发声，给惨死的三条生命公道，促进教育系统检视生命教育，提高学生反虐待动物的意识。
