Thank you again to everyone who has signed and shared this petition. There has been a significant and encouraging development.
The Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) has now successfully submitted its rideshare application, and importantly, it explicitly includes the transparency issues raised in this petition, particularly around trip information provided to drivers. This means the concerns we have been raising are formally on the table and part of a legal process.
The wheels are now in motion. This is a big step forward.
However, this is also the critical phase where momentum matters most. We cannot become complacent. Real change only happens if the pressure continues. The noise cannot die down until transparency is written into law and enforced, not just discussed.
If you are a rideshare driver and have not yet joined the TWU, now is the time to seriously consider it. Strength in numbers is what gives weight to these applications and ensures that drivers are taken seriously at a regulatory level. Membership is affordable, tax-deductible, and directly supports the fight for fairer, safer, and more transparent working conditions. On a personal level, TWU membership can also support you should you face an unfair or sudden deactivation, or if there’s a false customer complaint that could affect your livelihood, situations that many drivers experience with little warning or recourse. 👉 Join here: TWU Form
This petition has helped get us create awareness, but staying engaged is how we make sure it leads to real, legal change. Let’s keep pushing.
