Right now, the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) is working on a Minimum Standards Order that will be lodged with the Fair Work Commission, calling for trip info and transparency, fair pay, safety and training, allowances and more. This would be a huge step toward fairer conditions for rideshare drivers across Australia.

As with everything, there is strength in numbers, if you’re a rideshare driver in Australia, you should join the TWU to make a stronger case. Membership is $5 per week, it’s tax deductible, plus, you can claim GST.
