In the wake of this petition gaining traction, the Sheriff’s wife has made a public post on her Facebook page threatening a class action lawsuit and accusing those of us seeking transparency of spreading “hate propaganda.”
Let’s be clear: requesting public financial records and demanding accountability from elected officials is not hate propaganda — it’s a constitutional right. Attempts like this are designed to intimidate citizens into silence and discourage others from standing up for truth and transparency.
We cannot allow that to happen.
Every time they try to scare or discredit those asking legitimate questions, it only proves how badly transparency is needed. Now more than ever, it’s important that we stand together and show that intimidation will not work.
Please continue to share this petition, invite others to sign, and remind Dyer County officials that accountability is not optional — it’s their duty.
Together, we can ensure that truth and transparency prevail over fear and suppression.
