Thank you to everyone who signed. We reached our goal, and the message was heard.

This petition called for transparency, communication, and shared governance within the Black Rock Philharmonic community. Since it launched, conversations have opened, core members have connected, and work has begun to protect the orchestra from instability or unilateral control. A new nonprofit structure is now being formed so no single person or entity can take over the project. Former leadership has been contacted, and we are still waiting for responses that may clarify what happened and help close this chapter.

Going forward, the community and musicians will collectively decide on leadership, including the role of our music director, and we’re working toward a more transparent preparation and planning process. If needed, we are open to a name change (it has happened before) to prevent further conflict and let the music speak for itself.

This petition is not the end, it’s the foundation. Thank you for helping start the reset. Onward.
