✍️ Petition Update: Escalation to Clinical Resolutions Team
Many of you have asked what has happened since our complaint about Elva’s care at Vets for Pets Birstall, Leeds.

I want to share openly: the hospital team kept our complaint within their own walls, and I had to personally escalate it to the Clinical Resolutions Team at Vets for Pets HQ. Only then did we receive a formal response.

That letter, dated 7 November 2025, reveals serious contradictions and omissions:

“Pyometra is, by definition, a septic condition…” — yet earlier claims denied sepsis prior to surgery.
“Elva’s neuter status was incorrectly recorded as ‘spayed’ on admission.” — an intake error admitted only after escalation.
“Elva’s clinical examination noted a grade 3/6 heart murmur… we acknowledge that it may not have been explicitly discussed at the time.” — a clear failure of disclosure.
“We acknowledge that the time of death was not documented in the clinical notes.” — critical documentation missing.
“Her ultrasound findings were consistent with a closed pyometra.” — but no scan report or images were provided, preventing independent review.
Despite these admissions, the letter concludes: “We believe Elva received appropriate and compassionate care… we do not believe financial reimbursement is warranted.”
These quotes show why mandatory documentation standards, independent oversight, and full disclosure are urgently needed. Families should never have to fight this hard for transparency.

📣 What This Means
Our campaign is gaining traction: HQ has now formally responded.
But their own words highlight the governance failures we are fighting to change.
This strengthens our case with DEFRA, CMA, RCVS, and MPs — and shows why reform cannot wait.

Thank you for standing with us. Every signature, share, and comment adds weight to our call for #JusticeForElva and systemic veterinary reform.
