Demand Transparency and Accountability in Stray Dog Management in Guwahati Metropolitan
The Issue
Our community has been deeply disturbed by the current state of affairs regarding the management of stray dogs in the Guwahati Metropolitan and Suburban Area. We are increasingly concerned about the opaque running of our local non-profit organisation, JBF, tasked with the welfare of these stray dogs.
The management of the NGO is demonstrating an alarming lack of accountability and transparency in their operations. Exasperating the situation are the fears we hold regarding the welfare and safety of the dogs under this project. The procedures followed by the NGO are unclear, raising grave concerns about the health and safety of these vulnerable animals.
Most troubling of all is the significant reduction in the population of street dogs around Guwahati. This disturbing trend suggests systemic negligence and potentially unethical or illegal removal of these animals from their original locations. This leads to stressful displacement or worse for the dogs, upsetting the balance of the community and violating animal rights.
Stand with us in demanding transparency, accountability, and truly humane practices in the handling of Guwahati's stray dogs. It’s time to stand up for these silent victims. Please, sign this petition.
