Demand Toronto Police Enforce Public Decency Laws at Toronto Pride Parade

The Issue

Every year, families, including young children attend the Toronto Pride Parade. It's a celebration of love, unity, and acceptance—a cause I wholeheartedly support. However, it's becoming increasingly inappropriate and uncomfortable as people walk around buck naked in public, there are police officers everywhere yet nothing is done about it.

I firmly believe in everyone's right to express themselves and celebrate openly. Still, public decency laws must be equally enforced for all, regardless of the situation or event. The streets of Toronto should be safe and suitable for everyone, including children, to gather and celebrate without the discomfort of seeing indecent exposure. It's very unsettling to see individuals pushing these boundaries, seemingly above the law due to the event's context.

In Toronto, it is illegal to walk the streets without clothing, and such laws should be applied universally. Enforcement should reflect consistency, respect, and equal treatment for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

I urge local law enforcement and city officials to take this matter seriously by ensuring that public decency laws are upheld during the Toronto Pride Parade. Law enforcement agencies have a duty to ensure the safety and comfort of all public event attendees, including children.

Sign this petition to call for the enforcement of public decency laws during the Toronto Pride Parade, promoting a safe and family-friendly environment for everyone to enjoy.
