Demand Timely Municipal Services from GHMC Staff

The Issue

As a paying resident, I, like many others in our community, often feel overlooked and neglected by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) staff. We dutifully pay our property taxes, expecting in return a clean, healthy environment with functioning amenities. Our reality, sadly, is far different. With a majority of residents being senior citizens, the continual neglect of services like sanitation and street lighting poses severe challenges. Dimming vision combined with frequently unattended street lights causes distress and poses threats to safe mobility at night.

Many attempts were made to raise these issues through online portals and Apps but the situation has not improved substantially. It seems that the only way to gain immediate attention to concerns involves bribery, a practice against our fundamental rights and highly illegal. Yet, the delayed resolution of resident grievances continues undeservedly.

The International Anti-Corruption Day stresses on "corruption as a serious crime that can undermine social and economic development in all societies", reiterating our struggle against GHMC. It's vital we demand the GHMC staff to uphold their duty, ensuring timely servicing without the necessity of illicit incentives.

We approach CM of Telangana against Corruption, to redress this violation of basic rights. We are standing up, not just for our community but for all similarly marginalized citizens across the nation who shoulder the heavy brunt of negligence and corruption.

We request your voice in our struggle. Sign the petition to press the GHMC to deliver responsibilities timeously and without unlawful incentivization.
