BACKGROUND INFO:

Since December 12, 2022, Azerbaijan has blockaded 120,000 Armenians in the region of Artsakh from the rest of the world. This has left 30,000 children imprisoned in their own homes without access to food or heat in the middle of a brutal winter. 

Following the onslaught Azerbaijan waged against the Armenian people during a worldwide pandemic in 2020, the dictatorial regime is emboldened yet again to ethnically cleanse Armenians from their indigenous homeland. The #ArtsakhBlockade– in line with President Ilham Aliyev’s own words– is an attempt to exterminate Armenians from the region in the name of oil-profits and a genocidal pan-Turkic agenda.

CURRENT SITUATION:

So far, as a result of the blockade: 

• 8 children are in the neonatal and intensive care units of the children's hospital
• 12 adults are in the intensive care unit, four of whom are in critical condition.
• 154 babies have been delivered with little to no resources
• 470 citizens are on standby for medical operations
• 36 patients have been transferred to Armenia from Artsakh through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross to receive appropriate treatment
• 690 small and medium-sized businesses (14.7% of the total) suspended their activities
• 4,100 have lost their jobs
• 16,000 tons of vital goods to Artsakh has been prevented

Already, major international organizations– such as the European Court of Human Rights, Genocide Watch, Amnesty International, and Freedom House– have condemned Azerbaijan’s actions as inhumane.

OUR DEMANDS:

Join us in demanding that UNICEF– the United Nations Children’s Fund– play its role as the protector of children around the world by standing alongside the children of Artsakh! 

Specifically, we demand UNICEF to:

• Release a statement condemning Azerbaijan’s blockade of Artsakh and calling on the international community to support the Armenian people
• Deliver vital humanitarian aid– including food, medical supplies, and warm clothing– to the children of Artsakh in coordination with on-the-ground resources
• Mobilize the efforts of its UNICEF Ambassadors– Nouneh Sarkissian, Maléna, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Artur Aleksanyan– to raise international awareness about Azerbaijan’s brutal blockade

Բացատրողական Տեղեկութիւն ՝

Դեկտեմբեր 12, 2022-էն ի վեր, Ատրպէճանը Արցախի մէջ շրջաբակեր է 120,000 հայ գոցելով անոնց միակ միջանցքը դէպի Հայաստան։ Այս թիւին մէջ կան նաեւ 30,000 երեխայ՝ որոնք այս ահռնելի ձմռան օրերուն մնացեր են առանց սնունդի ու ջերմութեան։

Երեկ Ազերին համաճարակին ընթացքին հարցակեցաւ Արցախը գողնալու, այսօր անգամ մը եւս կը յստակացնէ իր գերագոյն նպատակը ՝ հայաթափել Արցախը, ոչնչացնել մեր ժողովուրդը, մշակոյթն ու ազգը։ Ալիեւն ինքն իսկ այս իրականութիւնը հռչակելէ ետք այլ մեզի ինչ մնաց ըսելու։

Ահաւասիկ, Մեծ Թուրանի ցեղասպանական օրակարքին համաձայն, շրջափակումի պատճառով. –

• 8 նորածիններ հիւանդանոցի մէջ ամենաբարձր աստիճանի հսկումի տակ են
• 12 մարդիկ ամենաբարձր աստիճանի հիւանդանոցի հսկումի տակ են, որոնցմէ չորսը վտանքաւոր վիճակի մէջ են
• 154 նորածիններ ծնած են ծննդաբերութեան համար յարմարեցուած նուազագոյն պայմաններու մէջ
• 470 քաղաքացիներ կը սպասեն բժշկական միջամտութիւններու
• 36 հիւանդներ փոխադրուած են Հայաստան առաջնային բժշկութեան համար Միջազգային Կարմիր Խաչի միջամտութեամբ
• 690 ընկերութիւն (ընդհանուրէն 14.7%) փակած են իրենց դռները
• 4,100 քաղաքացիներ մնացած են անգործ
• 16,000 թօն ապրանք չէ արտօնուած մուտք գործել Արցախ

Արդեն, ճանցուած միջազգային կազմակերպութիւններ ՝ օրինակ, European Court of Human Rights, Genocide Watch, Amnesty International, and Freedom House, շրջաբակման դէմ խօսած են։

Մեր Պահանջները ՝

Միացէ՛ք մեզ պահաջելով ՄԱԿ-ի Յուինեֆէն որ խաղայ իր դերը որպէս միջազգային երեխաներու պաշտպանիչ ու աջակցութիւն ցուցաբերէ Արցախի մանուկներուն։

Յատկապէս, կը պահանջենք որ Յունիսէֆը. –

• Հրատարակէ յայտարարութիւն, որ Ատրպէճանին կը դատապարտէ Արցախի շրջափակման համար եւ կոչ կ՚ ուղղէ միջազգային համայնքին որ աջակցին Հայ ժողվուրդին
• Հայթայթէ մարդասիրական օժանդակութիւն Արցախի երեխաներուն ՝ նեռարեալ կերակուր, դեղորայք ու հագուստեղէն
• Կազմակերպէ Յունիսեֆի դեսպաններուն ՝ Նունէ Սարգիսյանի, Մալէնաի, Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանի եւ Արթուր Ալեքսանյանի, արձականգ բարձրացնելու Ազերիներուն վայրագ շրջափակման գծով
