This was originally going to focus on Dan Clancy’s double standards in enforcing hateful conduct, his parasocial behavior toward streamers, his disastrous policy decisions, and the waste of resources on features nobody asked for. No matter how many times we complain — even when streamers call him out directly — nothing ever improves. I’ve despised his leadership since he replaced Emmett Shear. Now Twitch has sunk even lower, letting their biggest female streamer and one of the most wholesome creators on the platform be assaulted on stage, in front of everyone. The company only cares about optics, not actual integrity. And even that’s debatable — if they truly cared about image, they’d just do the right thing in the first place instead of scrambling to save face after the fact.
