Demand The Resignation of Anas Sarwar For Deliberately Misleading The Scottish Electorate

The Issue

As the saying goes, if looks could kill. The above photo says it all.

Anas Sarwar, Labour's Branch Manager in Scotland has deceived the Scottish electorate into believing there would be no austerity under a Labour Government, but only 3 weeks into their term and things are very very different. Sarwar is not a leader; never has been and can never ever be trusted. A serial liar.

Summarising the Sarwar situation as of today Tuesday 30th

  • Sarwar is still hiding under his rock and refusing to face up to Labours U-turns on many areas including austerity measures which he insisted would never happen during the election campaign with his ill thought through 'Watch My Lips' rant, the cuts to winter fuel payments and 2-child benefits cap which he supported pre-election then was overturned, and the promises to WASPI women their pensions would be safe.
  • No BBC journos trying to find Sarwar to doorstep him as they did with FM John Swinney.
  • BBC doing their utmost to suppress any discussion on winter fuel payments.
  • BBC already working on lies and smears to implicate ScotGov in withholding Fuel Allowance.
  • All Scottish MP's decided to kow tow to PM on refusing to abolish the 2-child cap. Sarwar was powerless to overturn the decision.
  • Scottish labour does not exist. It’s an alternative mark. It’s empty suits behind a brass plate on the door, just like GB Energy will be.
  • Labour in Scotland have no decision making powers. PM has final say on everything.
  • So what’s the point of having a Labour ‘leader’ in Scotland.

This petition has three calls for action

  • Demand the Prime Minister forces the resignation of Sarwar for lying to the Scottish electorate during the election campaign (well documented everywhere except BBC of course)
  • Demand the Prime Minister removes the post of Scottish Labour Leader as its function is meaningless.
  • Demand the Prime Minister introduces a simple process of allowing his 'Locum' Scottish based MSP’s a flexible roster of appearance at Holyrood on his behalf so that they take responsibility and accountability for solving important issues directly - no 'Branch Manager' required.
