As someone deeply disturbed by Donald Trump’s bullying and disrespectful behavior, I do not find it hard to link his actions with those of a petulant child. He seems to continuously break centuries-old norms and traditions in order to push a selfish and xenophobic agenda. His audacity was particularly noticeable when he issued the executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico, an idea as outrageous as it is disrespectful. It's a direct blow to the cultural identities of millions of people living across the Gulf states and countries.

Given this context, this petition proposes a distinctive answer: if he can attempt to take away others' heritage, then his own branded properties should not be exempt. We demand that all Trump owned properties be renamed, preferably with terms that he finds distasteful (example: Trump Tower would become Mexico Tower, Mar-a-Lago would become Trans-a-Lago, etc). This is not out of spite, but to show support for those who have been demeaned, belittled, and marginalized by Trump and his cronies. 

This sort of symbolic action has precedence and impact. Name changes of complexity similar to what we propose happened in Rwanda post-genocide, where streets were renamed as part of a conscious effort to leave a violent past behind (source: "In Rwanda, Streets Have New Names", The New York Times).
