As a Transgender Woman, I am personally affected by Mike Johnson's actions in the past, and potentially in his position as Speaker of the House. He stood up front, in front of us all, and avoided questioning about his involvement in the events that took place on January 6th (journalists were even told to SHUT UP, as he was being questioned). His attempt to support the take over of the White House and presidency was not only a direct assault on our democracy but also a clear indication of his disregard for truth and justice. He clearly violated Article 14, section 3

Disqualification from Holding Office
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Furthermore, he uses his faith as a shield to his prejudice and bigotry in his attempts to deny basic rights such as abortion rights and LGBTQ+ rights. This is not just an attack on these communities but also an affront to religious freedom which should never be used as an excuse for discrimination or prejudice.

His unwavering support for Donald Trump and denial of election results further highlight his lackadaisical approach towards democratic principles. It's time we hold him accountable for his actions. He NEEDS TO BE IMPEACHED! We need to hold all those accountable whose decisions caused a deadly riot, and whose choices are leading to the undoing of democracy. 

We need leaders who will uphold our democratic values, respect human rights, promote truthfulness and transparency. Mike Johnson has shown through his actions that he is not fit to hold this position.
