Artists Act for Animals: Teddy, Luk, Askot, Abbey, Arko and Edna
Last week was a tough one. We learned that both Luk and Teddy were euthanized by the police, Teddy December 9th, and Luk December 10th.
At the same time, we launched Artists Act for Animals, a project where up and coming and established artists donated art to fundraise and to help put an end to injustice for animals like these: artistsactforanimals.com
Although we were in shock and grief after hearing about Luk and Teddy, we believed it was even more important to start Artists Act for Animals. Our focus for this art auction is to bring awareness and fundraise for dogs in Norway who are being sentenced to death simply for a few scratches or accidents, based on an unclear and unjust dog law.
The donated artwork is now for for sale, and the proceeds will go to the kennel and legal fees for Teddy, Luk, Askot, Abbey, Arko and Edna.

Now, only Askot, Abbey, Arko and Edna are alive, and we are all fundraising in order to try to help their owner cover unreasonable high police-kennel fees for over $7000 monthly for them to stay alive until a new court date. You can also support them directly by clicking here.
We would also like to share our latest update regarding Luk and Teddy, and send our deepest sympathy to their owners who fought so hard to save them.
Luk and Teddy
Luk was sentenced to death for a minor injury and lost his appeal in Supreme Court. His owner was informed that he was put to death in March but it turned out to be false. Then, December 6th, he was said to be euthanized November 16th — again, without the owner being informed or the body being returned. And the finally, the owner got a new death report, stating Luk was euthanized December 10th.
Then, there’s Teddy, sentenced to death for biting a person who scared him awake from a deep sleep. His owner lost in court and her last chance to appeal fell on deaf ears. After a long, expensive fight, Teddy was put to sleep December 9th, even though many dog experts verified that this 15 pound dog, Teddy was not threat.
