Demand the maximum penalty for animal abuser, Tanner Pool!
The Issue
In the early morning hours of January 4th, 2025 (5:45am approximately) someone decided the fate of 7 newborn puppies by throwing them in the dumpster. The dumpster in question is between the Maverik Adventure's First Stop Gas Station at the corner of E Alameda & Jefferson (855 E Alameda Rd.) and the Social Security Administration office (861 Jefferson Ave.) in Pocatello, Idaho.
But angels intervened that day. The staff at Maverik heard their little cries and immediately called the Pocatello Police Department and Pocatello Animal Services. They were then taken to Danniell Dustin of Dustin' Time Rescue to foster for the city while an investigation began (the header photo and photos seen in updates are from Danniell's social media).
If anyone in town could bring these puppies back from the brink of death, it's Danniell. She popped them right in the incubator and filled their bellies, one-by-one. They were so new, they had just begun passing their meconium (sticky, yucky, first baby poops).
Sadly, despite all of the proper care, several puppies passed away. Newborn puppies lack the ability to regulate their own body tenperature so it's very plausible that their time in the cold dumpster resulted in irreversible cardiac and central nervous system damage.
What kind of monster would commit such a horrific injustice to innocent, helpless puppies? After a long investigation, several tips, and hundreds of hours of community involvement, on January 15th, 2025, we learned just who that monster was. Tanner Pool, 28 years old, of Pocatello, Idaho.
Tanner Pool is no stranger to the police. He has a vast history of violent and wreckless crimes, and general behavior that indicates that he believes he's above the law. This behavior started as a juvenile and has only escalated.
