Gaza is at IPC level 5 - confirmed by UNICEF.
The IPC is the Food Security Phase Classification Scale, and 5 is the highest level.
This means a severe and wide-spread food crisis - classified by food shortages, widespread famine, and excess mortality.
650,000 children are on the brink of starvation.
And people getting food at the 'aid' sites are being deliberately short and executed. And people are murdered if they try and go out to fish.
The World Central Kitchen cannot even feed people.
"We have finished all the stock in hand, and our trucks are stuck at the border," WCK wrote in an Instagram caption. "We are continuing to bake bread and deliver water. But the people of Gaza still need a hot meal. Yesterday, we served 80,000+ meals -- and we are ready to start cooking again the moment that aid trucks make it safely to our field kitchens."
Andrés shared the post on his Instagram story Sunday, adding in part, "Once again, @WCKitchen we have run out of food in Gaza. Our brave teams on the ground report the security situation has deteriorated significantly, and our ability to operate is severely constrained. We need to get trucks of supplies safely to our field kitchens ASAP so that we can get cooking!"
19 people have died of starvation in 24 hours, even doctors are collapsing or malnutrition. This is a sudden and significant increase.
Gaza is on the brink of famine and mass deaths, if we do not act now, the enclave will stave to death.
Please, tomorrow I will prepare a handwritten letter for the Tánaiste and Taoiseach where I will talk about this petition, and I will demand a humanitarian corridor be opened and a peacekeeping force established in Gaza once a ceasefire deal is reached.
