Demand that Vivo allows bootloader unlocking on all their smartphones

Demand that Vivo allows bootloader unlocking on all their smartphones
Le problème
To the attention of Vivo Mobile Communications Co., Ltd.
We, smartphone users and enthusiasts, respectfully request that Vivo officially allow bootloader unlocking across all its devices, in a controlled and secure manner.
Today, many smartphone manufacturers offer clear procedures that allow advanced users to unlock their bootloaders. This practice promotes user freedom, customization, software innovation, and extends the lifespan of devices by providing access to alternative systems (custom ROMs) and specific optimizations.
Vivo is well known for the quality of its smartphones and attention to detail. However, the lack of an official unlocking option deprives many users of:
- their freedom to modify or improve their device;
- the ability to keep their phone up to date after the official support ends;
- the opportunity to contribute to technological innovation through community-driven projects.
In a time when sustainability, environmental impact, and digital freedom are becoming increasingly important, allowing bootloader unlocking would be a strong and positive step.
We ask Vivo to:
Provide an official procedure for requesting bootloader unlocking, with clear conditions (for example: acceptance of software warranty voidance).
Respect the users' right to fully control the hardware they have purchased.
Support the developer community aiming to improve the user experience on Vivo devices.
Such a decision would not only benefit the users but also enhance Vivo's image within the international community of enthusiasts and developers.
A concrete story:
This story dates back to 2019, when I owned a Realme X2 Pro. One day, it became bricked due to a software update. Fortunately, I had enabled bootloader unlocking. At first, I wasn't able to fix the phone, but after some research, I managed to repair the corrupted system through the unlocked bootloader. However, today the original OS is no longer receiving updates, but thanks to the developer community, systems with up-to-date security standards can still be installed.
Thank you for hearing us and considering this request.
