I am an ordinary customer of Temu, and for years, I have found security and reassurance in their "No returns but refund" policy. This policy contributed to the trust I placed in the company, knowing that my satisfaction was their priority. Recently, however, this policy was unfortunately eliminated in Temu's new scheme of action.
This cancellation has generated discontent and a feeling of disregard among loyal customers like me. The previous policy offered a greater sense of protection against defective or unsatisfactory products, especially in today's digital purchasing era where not all purchases meet the expectations created by online images or descriptions.
This is not just my issue; millions of other users are affected. In fact, a Consumer Reports National Research Center survey shows that about 91% of consumers want companies to provide a full refund if a purchased product is not satisfactory (Consumer Reports, 2015). This demonstrates the significant importance customers place on refund policies, emphasizing why Temu's decision to scrap such a policy is a setback.
Not only that, but from a business perspective, this policy reinstatement can also boost Temu's reputation and trustworthiness among consumers. According to a Helpscout data, nearly 73% of customers fall in love with a brand and remain loyal because of friendly customer service, which includes return and refund policies (Helpscout).
Therefore, we need Temu to re-evaluate its decision and reestablish its "No returns but refund" policy. It is a valuable policy that gives customers confidence in their purchases and shows Temu's commitment towards its customers' satisfaction.
