Poor phone reception in the Gilgandra area has become a major detriment to both the quality of life for individuals and the operation of local businesses.  Not only are daily communications severely inhibited, but local businesses are also suffering from this deficiency. It is imperative that Telstra act immediately to rectify this problem. Such circumstances limit the prosperity and growth of our local economy and undermine our rights to basic utilities. We call upon Telstra to prioritise the upgrade of the telecommunications infrastructure in the Gilgandra area. We also encourage other concerned citizens to make our voices heard and sign this petition for the betterment of our community.
I hear from many locals and travellers who echo these concerns and are bewildered by the fact that the centre of town can have no reception to make a call. 
I call on Telstra to action these concerns and take the necessary steps to improve the services paid for by their loyal customers in a timely manner.
