As an American citizen, I am deeply concerned about the safety of our fellow citizens, law enforcement officers, children, and seniors. Friends in sanctuary cities are unable to send their children to school due to illegal immigrants using them for housing. Hospitals struggle to treat American citizens because they are overwhelmed by the need to house and treat illegal immigrants. Fear pervades our streets as Americans worry about being robbed by those here illegally.

Our nation is also grappling with a devastating drug crisis that has claimed too many lives. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that over 70,000 people died from drug overdoses in 2019 alone - a figure that continues to rise each year (source: CDC). We must end this war on drugs.

We are not against legal immigration; we welcome those who wish to contribute positively towards building our nation. However, we strongly oppose illegal immigration which poses numerous challenges including crime and strain on public resources.

Our government has sworn an oath to protect us - it's time they uphold this promise by enforcing stricter border control measures and ending sanctuary policies that shelter illegal immigrants at the expense of law-abiding citizens.
