Demand Solon city leaders put the candles back into the city’s wreath decorations! 

We The People Of Solon are appalled that Solon Mayor Ed Kraus ordered the Solon Services Department to remove the electric candles from each of the wreath decorations that are regularly hung up on light poles around the center of town for the holidays. 

According to a reliable source with an inside at the Solon Services Department (identity hidden to prevent backlash against a city employee), the candles were supposedly removed after someone complained that they’re “too similar to the candles used religiously by Christians and Jews”, demanding a separation of church and state.

This is the police department blue line flag situation all over again, where back in 2021 Mayor Kraus ordered the Solon Police Department to remove their blue line flag because it “offended” a small group of people. Some social justice warrior with no shame and nothing better to do with their time decides to complain about something that has zero effect on their lives for sake of trying to push their backwards political ideologies onto the community, and our mayor decides to go along with it without question. As petty as it may sound, this is psychological warfare in its clearest form.

Sign this petition to demand that Solon’s city leaders put the electric candles back into the wreath decorations! We need to make it clear that we refuse to allow our community to keep giving in to these ridiculous anti-American ideologies! You give them an inch and they take a mile!
