Wiener's staff member is soul searching -- the public pressure is working! Keep calling and sharing!
In the last update, I linked to follow up emails that I sent on November 1, November 4, and November 6.
I am still regularly sending follow up emails. I try to add more people to the thread with each new email so that the circle of people aware of the State Senate’s blatant violation of the laws continually grows. Here are the emails from
November 8, November 12, November 15, and November 19.
In response to the November 19 email, one of Wiener’s staff sent out an auto-responder message. It said:
"I am out on vacation until 11/25. I enter the last year of my twenties this week and am spending a lot of time reflecting on the type of person I want to become. Should you need anything, please call the office at 916-651-4011.”
I responded to Mr. Severiano with a message conveying that I do not think he is a good person and that I am glad he is reflecting on how to be a good person.
I truly believe that our public pressure campaign contributed to his soul searching.
Since Trump won re-election, Wiener has been arrogantly spouting off that California can do whatever it wants in violation of federal laws/executive orders.
I suspect that many legislators are equally delusional about laws not applying to California. I believe that our campaign has been a wake-up call that “we the people of California” will hold our legislators accountable to following the laws.
Mr. Severiano’s email indicates that his bubble has shattered and he is reflecting on reality. Had we not been calling and sharing the petition, he and the rest of them may still be in their delusional bubble.
