Demand RTÉ to Provide Job Entitlements to Misclassified Workers

Demand RTÉ to Provide Job Entitlements to Misclassified Workers
The Issue
Many who have been misclassified as a self-employed worker by the National Broadcaster, RTÉ. For years, we have been denied our rightful job entitlements while working for the company. The Department of Social Protection has recognised us as employees, and yet we are still waiting for our due rights. We call on the Minister to take action.
RTÉ has paid the PRSI and fines that were due for this misclassification. However, it is not enough to merely pay these fines; they must also provide us with the same job entitlements that other workers enjoy. We cannot allow a two-tiered system where some employees are treated differently than others.
Many of my colleagues have retired after dedicating their entire working lives to RTÉ without receiving any pensions. This is not just unfair; it's inhumane to know some are on the breadline after their service to RTÉ for decades.
We understand that speaking out can be daunting but signing this petition could be your first step towards justice. It's time for all voices to be heard and all workers at RTÉ to be treated fairly and equitably.
The unrepresented employee voices call on the government to hold RTE to account for its failure not to pay workers what they were entitled to. This should be backdated for all of those who were not provided with their entitlements which they were legally entitled to. If RTE is not held accountable then they will have broken the law. If RTE is not prosecuted by Deartment of Social Welfare or other state body, they will
never learn the lesson of employer responsibility and the practice will continue and most likely be copied elsewhere.
Please sign this petition demanding that RTÉ provides its misclassified workers with their rightful job entitlements now!
