The Issue

THE UNDERSIGNED ARE FORMER & ACTIVE MONMOUTH COUNTY SPCA EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, DONORS AND CONCERNED RESIDENTS OF MONMOUTH COUNTY.

As a former Monmouth County SPCA employee of 8 years, I raise this petition with the desire for justice and the betterment of an organization that I once loved and committed myself to. We, the former and active employees, former and active volunteers, donors, and concerned residents of Monmouth County, demand that Ross Licitra and Barbara Lovell step down from their positions of Executive Director and Associate Executive Director respectively. This call stems from our collective experiences and witness of abuse, intimidation, and manipulation of staff and volunteers all under their watch.

In addition, we are deeply concerned about their utilization of the organization for personal and political gain. As per the nonprofit organization policy, such utilization is unacceptable, tarnishing the organization's reputation and eroding its noble mission of animal welfare.

Furthermore, the conflict of interest stemmed by Ross Licitra holding the position of an elected County Commissioner further undermines our faith in the leadership. This issue is well-documented in examples like the Chicago Tribune's report on Cook County, Illinois, where multiple officials were asked to step down due to conflicts of interest.

For the sake of the organization's integrity, reputation, and its crucial mission of advocating for the welfare of animals, we urge Ross Licitra and Barbara Lovell to voluntarily step down immediately so that a transparent, honest, and efficient leadership can guide the Monmouth County SPCA towards overcoming its current issues. Sign this petition to support accountability and integrity in Monmouth County SPCA's leadership.

Meet the Real Ross Licitra & Barbara Lovell as they scream at and dehumanize an employee for questioning a euthanasia.
