Dear friends and fellow advocates,

We did it! Our voices have been heard, and Liz Magill has resigned as President of the University of Pennsylvania! This victory belongs to each and every one of you who signed the petition and raised your voices against antisemitism and harassment on our campuses.

Magill's inability to unequivocally address antisemitism and create a safe learning environment for all students was unacceptable. We demanded accountability, and through our collective action, we have achieved it. This is a significant step forward, not just for the University of Pennsylvania, but for the fight against antisemitism on campuses and in our society as a whole.

While Magill's resignation marks an important milestone, our work is far from over. We must remain vigilant and continue to hold universities accountable for creating inclusive and safe spaces for all students, regardless of their background or beliefs.

This is just the beginning. We must use this momentum to push for further change, including:

Clear and unequivocal policies defining and prohibiting antisemitism and all forms of discrimination.
Robust reporting and investigation procedures to ensure swift and decisive action against hate incidents.
Comprehensive educational programs for students, faculty, and staff on antisemitism and its impact.
Increased support services for victims of antisemitism and other forms of harassment.
We are stronger together. Let us continue to stand united and demand a future where every student can learn and thrive free from fear and discrimination.

Never again is now. Thank you once again for your unwavering commitment to this cause.

Sincerely,

Valerie Weiss
