The Issue

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) plays a critical role in our city's healthcare system. However, the current CEO's lack of support and understanding for its workforce is causing significant issues, most notably regarding the recent Rota Change Proposal. This proposal has been met with widespread disapproval from staff members who believe it will negatively impact their work-life balance and overall wellbeing. Furthermore, it is evident that there is a disconnect between management and frontline workers which needs to be addressed urgently.

According to NHS Staff Survey results, LAS has consistently ranked below average in terms of staff engagement compared to other ambulance trusts across England (source: NHS Staff Survey). This indicates a systemic issue within the organisation that requires immediate attention.

We believe that for LAS to effectively serve Londoners, we need leadership that understands and supports its workforce. Therefore, we are calling for the resignation of the current CEO as a first step towards improving working conditions at LAS.
