To Whom It May Concern;

In accordance with Pitta Pitta's Rule Book Section 13, I, a sovereign owner standing in my sovereign rights and a current member of Pitta Pitta Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC, a descendant of Grannie Alice Wiyekari hereby give notice of dispute to the Corporation. The dispute is about:

1. The current PBC is failing to advocate and protect on matters relating to cultural heritage sites, despite the advice of local traditional owners and historical members. As a result, the sites are consistently violated by the local government or other entities. The current board is currently failing to fulfill its core business obligations.

  • The Jungle
  • Birthing sites
  • One Mile
  • The Burke River
  • Cultural Walks
  • Crusher Area
  • The Compound
  • Acknowledging entrance into Pitta Pitta Country
  • Stones in the office and the dismissal of the voices of the community on these affairs of removal artifacts and stones off country
  • Dismissing emails on evidence found by community of cultural significance

The community is demanding for the removal of all directors, this has greatly hurt and offended the people.

2. Lack of representation of other Apicals on the board  ☐ 1. King Bob ‘Walpa Currie’ ☐ 2 King Bob ‘Wheelpoolie’ ☐ 3. Dinah Aplin nee Craigie ☐ 4. Geraldine Craigie aka ‘Cherida Craigie’ aka ‘May Cherita’☐ 5. Juno ☐ 6. Linda‘Junnaburri’ Allen ☐ 7 Jacob ‘Tulikamali’ Cameron ☐ 8 Joseph ‘Joe’ Allen ☐ 9 Pilot Jack.

The current majority of the board is dominated by nepotism, as it is comprised of (6) Craigie's under an Apical who isn't a Native Title Holder and (3) Juno's (1) Pilot Jack The area is not represented by any locals from Boulia who have traditional ownership or historical rights. The community is experiencing a sense of powerlessness, and their voices are not being heard.

We are requesting that a fair number of Apicals be nominated to serve on the board of directors, and that their fair share of representation be awarded.

3. Rule Book Section 7.5 (b) a request Expressions of Interest in becoming a Director. This form requests for [Attached are copies of my police record and Bankruptcy Register Search undertaken no more than one (1) month prior to making this application. Note: This application will not be accepted unless these documents are attached].

Section 7.5 doesn't state clearly spell out what members are required to consider before expressing an interest in becoming a Director of our corporation.  Furthermore, criminal history and bankruptcy checks is not appropriate for most of the traditional owners who are members and hold historical interests in Boulia, who may hold criminal history or bankruptcy matters.

We are asking for this rule to be removed.

4. We are requesting the removal of Rule Section 6.16 and Schedule 2, which pertain to proxies. In reality, all regulations concerning proxies are to be eliminated. However, in order to demonstrate their sincere interest in the Pitta Pitta people's affairs and to prevent nepotism, all members are obligated to attend in person. Proxies have enabled the current Board of Directors to acquire power and control, particularly over the local community, for an extended period of time. However, the local community no longer supports them.

5. There is a dispute regarding the most recent AGM, which was held on November 29, 2024. The day before the late Director Evelyn James son Lyle James funeral. It shows the lack of cultural practices in regards to sorry business within the community that they serve, it shows the disrespect. The AGM that day was noted by the entire community, therefore The community is demanding for the removal of all directors, this has greatly hurt and offended the people.

6. The morning before late Director Evelyn James funeral,  the Board held a Directors meeting, expecting the admin Rowena Kelly to attend to take the minutes. This has hurt the community greatly, again showing the late of sensitivity towards cultural practices.  Evelyn being born and bred in Boulia who's apicals are Walpa Currie, Wheelpoolie and Donald Bedourie, her long standing commitment to her people and family as the Matriarch the loss has crippled her people, the meeting held that morning was noted by the entire community therefore the community is demanding for the removal of all directors, this has greatly hurt and offended the people.

7. The corporation's denial of applications, which denied the applicant's connection to their family ancestry and country of origin, has caused dissatisfaction among community members. This has escalated the community's divisions, as evidenced by physical altercations, arguments, and social media bullying. The community has reached its limit and demands an end to the situation. This has caused significant harm and outrage to the people.

8. The community has noted a lack of communication in relation the changes occurring within the corporation for example, scheduled meetings, dismal of directors, removal of members, updates of any changes, informing members of current stance of decision making (the community as a whole does not know whats going on)

It is imperative to note the Boulia community has stated a vote of no confidence in the Board of the Directors of the Pitta Pitta Aboriginal Corporation and request a General Meeting within 21 days of receipt of this email, for these disputes to be heard as per Rule Book 6.5.
