On-going disputes between Republic Services and the Teamsters union elsewhere in the country, have left some WA customers without garbage, recycling or yard waste collection for weeks, but no compensation or credit has been offered.

Each week of cancelled waste collections saves Republic Services large sums of money, funds that should be used to compensate customers rather than enrich the company.

We, the undersigned, believe and demand the following:

1. Republic Services should adequately compensate all customers for any failure to collect garbage, recycling or yard waste
2. Republic Services should work with local authorities to identify local drop-off locations in all areas affected by the dispute
3. it is the right of all Republic Services customers affected by the dispute to withhold payment until suitable compensation has been agree for all affected
4. Republic Services will not charge late fees for any customers choosing to delay payment during the period of the dispute or until such time as adequate compensation has been agreed.

We urge Republic Services to work out a deal with the Teamsters union as a matter of urgency, in order to return waste collection services to their normal schedule.
