Democrat voters have voiced our vehement objection to continued support of Israel.  Yet, Hakeem Jeffries just appointed 3 members to the Foreign Affairs Committee that do not represent our values or priorities, particularly concerning foreign aid allocations. It is high time our tax dollars stop being used to support regimes that perpetuate human rights violations, such as Netanyahu's in Israel.

Recent events have highlighted a stark and concerning disparity between the actions of some elected officials on the Foreign Affairs Committee and the clear desires of their constituents. Jared Moskowitz, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Wesley Bell have shown themselves to be proponents of policies that many of us find unjust and unconscionable. They have done little to hold Israeli leadership accountable for ongoing human rights abuses and illegal settlements, which have led to international outcry and further instability in the region.

According to Amnesty International, Israel’s actions in the occupied territories, which include land appropriation, unlawful killings, forced displacement, and severe restrictions on movement, have been condemned globally. These policies not only violate international law but also stand opposed to the fundamental values of freedom and equality that we, as Democrats, hold dear.

We need representation that listens to its constituents and stands firmly for justice and accountability on the international stage. It's time to demand the immediate removal of Moskowitz, Wasserman Schultz, and Bell from the Foreign Affairs Committee, thereby paving the way for leadership that prioritizes human rights and ethical foreign policy.
