Demand release of the kidnapped activists on the “Freedom Flotilla”
The Issue
The kidnapping of the crew, including Marco Rennes, is an illegal act and a violation of international law. Marco, along with Greta Thunberg and other activists, were on a peaceful mission aboard the "Freedom Flotilla," aiming to deliver essential humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. They were intercepted by Israeli forces while navigating international waters, without any weapons on board. We call upon the Dutch government to take action against the detainment of these activists.
The purpose of their journey was to bring much-needed supplies and support to those suffering in Gaza. This humanitarian effort was not only noble but also crucial for raising awareness about the ongoing crisis and the need for immediate aid. Yet, instead of being celebrated and supported, these brave activists were wrongfully detained.
Marco Rennes is a compassionate individual, dedicated to promoting peace and providing assistance to those in need. His unlawful detention is not only a personal tragedy but also a dangerous precedent that could discourage other humanitarian acts, hindering efforts to provide aid to conflict zones across the world.
Holding the Dutch government accountable to act swiftly and decisively is essential. We urge them to leverage diplomatic channels, pressuring Israeli authorities to release Marco Rennes and his fellow activists immediately. Their freedom is crucial for continuing vital humanitarian missions and ensuring the rights of all activists worldwide are respected.
Sign this petition to demand the immediate release of Marco Rennes and his colleagues, and to stand up for the right to humanitarian aid without fear of suppression or arrest. Together, we can make a difference and uphold the values of peace and compassion. Please sign to support the safe return of these brave activists.
