Thank you for your support demanding that PG&E stop the unnecessary destruction of 272 trees in Lafayette, CA. Here are the important updates since our lawsuit was filed this summer: - Safety issues have been identified in Lafayette's gas pipeline. These include an exposed pipeline segment, lapses in PG&E's inspection programs, and lack of ANY automatic shut-off valves in Lafayette. Our mission now is to save 272 trees in Lafayette AND ensure important pipeline safety fixes are made. We want these fixes to be addressed before trees are considered for removal! - Our lawsuit continues. Mandatory settlement meetings are in progress. Our first court date is scheduled for Nov. 8. - Save Lafayette Trees is now a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Your contributions are tax deductible and we would appreciate any support you can offer. https://www.gofundme.com/savelafayettetrees HOW YOU CAN HELP: 1. Please support our efforts to stop unnecessary tree removal with a donation. Any amount will help offset legal expenses for our CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act) lawsuit against the City of Lafayette and PG&E. Thank you to all who have donated! ** Donate today: https://www.gofundme.com/savelafayettetrees ** 2. Email the City of Lafayette and ask them to rescind the Tree Cutting Agreement. By cancelling this agreement, the City can stop the lawsuit and then restart the project to present viable alternatives in an open process with public input. Email: "cityhall@lovelafayette.org" and simply say: "Please rescind the PG&E Tree Cutting Agreement from March 27." Thank you. --------------------------------- "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
