Momentum is building. The New Jersey Attorney General recently announced that eight pet stores were cited and fined more than $70,000 for violating the Pet Purchase Protection Act. Disturbingly, the Pet Center — affiliated with Petland — received the most citations of all.

This underscores what we’ve been saying all along: the system of breeding and selling rabbits (and other animals) through retail stores is broken and harmful.
