For the benefit of our followers, attached are links to some key correspondence and the video of the Orange Council meeting where they decided to lobby the Minister to install LifeVac devices in all NSW schools as well as daycare centers and sporting fixtures in the Orange region. Notably, an amendment motion to defer action until advice from the AMA, RACP, and NSW Health was defeated on the grounds it was unnecessary and would delay implementation, putting further children at risk. The parents of Decklan Haywood and Imogen Lennon, who both lost their children from choking, were in attendance at the meeting and no doubt their presence reinforced the urgency and importance of immediate council action on this matter. Orange Council should be commended for taking this initiative to protect students and stop further suffering by parents and for recognising that as the LifeVac has been listed and reviewed by the TGA (the only regulator in Australia), seeking the opinions of other bodies is an unnecessary complication.
