Demand Nike to Implement Environmentally Friendly Manufacturing Practices

The Issue

Nike, one of the world's leading clothing manufacturers, is a significant contributor to global CO2 emissions. Their current manufacturing processes rely heavily on unsustainable materials like synthetic fibers, and they produce considerable waste that is not and cannot be recycled. They utilize non-renewable energy sources and overproduce clothing.

The fashion industry is responsible for 10% of annual global carbon emissions (source: UN Environment Programme). As a major player in this industry, Nike has a responsibility to reduce their environmental impact. We are calling on them to make substantial changes in their company policies towards more sustainable practices.

These practices should include using more sustainable materials instead of synthetic fibers; minimizing waste production through efficient manufacturing processes; recycling or reusing the waste produced; increasing the use of renewable energy sources such as solar panels; and reducing overproduction by improving demand forecasting and stock management technologies.

By making these changes, Nike can significantly reduce their carbon footprint while setting an example for other companies in the fashion industry. This petition calls on all concerned environmentalists to join us in urging these corporations towards greater corporate social responsibility. It will be used as supporting evidence in the future when we plan to hold Nike accountable for their environmentally harmful practices and consistent greenwashing.

You can help us hold them accountable and create a greener future. If you want Nike to start using more environmentally friendly practices and help conserve our planet, please sign our petition!
