Demand NHS/ICB to fund medical centre in S B’wood/withdraw 25/0227/FUL if not guaranteed

The Issue

This is a petition to Hertsmere Borough Council and NHS/Herts&W.Essex ICB to fund an additional medical centre in the South of Borehamwood and withdraw the proposed 25/0227/FUL (Ripon Parkway project for the demolition of 38 garages and building 29 homes on the site, which will be unviable and unsustainable, due to the lack of essential medical infrastructure) if not guaranteed

Our previous campaign gained 1699 objections from the community to a previous development for 52 homes on this site and was withdrawn due to pressure from residents.  Again we are asking you to make your objections clear, demanding instead that the NHS provide an essential medical centre instead.

Borehamwood desperately needs an additional GP surgery. Residents are finding it impossible to get an appointment. The Director’s Arms was identified as a site for the surgery. We have had no clear answers from either the councils ruling administration or the NHS as to why this site can now not be used as a surgery. An additional surgery was a manifesto promise of the Labour Party ahead of the 2023 elections and we call on Labour to deliver on its promise of a much needed additional surgery in Borehamwood.  This is why people elected them and people will not forget!
