THIS HAS NOT BEEN EVEN CLOSE TO OUR EXPERIENCE.

We, like countless others, have been entangled in an unfair system that E-ZPass, specifically NJ E-ZPass has set up. We've been wrongfully charged thousands of dollars in violation fees for circumstances that were out of our hands, or due to the ridiculous rule they have about not being able to use your ezpass for 24-48 hours after replenishing from any amount below $0. If you have a job and that isn’t an option, you’ll receive violations for every toll within that timeframe. The highly specific rules which need to be followed act as traps for the unwary or misinformed, leading to costly mistakes. On an online forum like Reddit alone, hundreds of posts echo our experience, proving we are not alone in this struggle.

E-ZPass's customer service has been appalling. False practices, unreasonable administrative fees, and a lack of control over auto-replenishment amounts further emphasize their lack of commitment to fairness, transparency, and accountability. Somehow ending up with $2000 in violations as a low-middle class American, I tried to setup a payment plan. I wasn’t able to because I do not have my auto-replenish on. This is because ezpass has made my auto-replenish amount $300. I can’t afford to always have $300 on an ezpass. Believe it or not, I have more important bills. We do our absolute best to make sure our account remains above $0. But sometimes it overdrafts in the middle of a drive, and on top of that, tolls don’t post to your account right away. So you may actually have less in your account than you think even if you check daily.

The unethical behavior of NJ E-ZPass is causing undue financial burden to American citizens, who are already struggling amidst a challenging economic climate. It’s high time we call out these outrageous violations, not just for us but for thousands who are at the mercy of their underhanded practices.

We propose fairness, transparency, and a thorough review of the NJ E-ZPass's billing policies and practices. We ask for a class-action lawsuit to rightfully contest their damaging and unfair methods.

We invite all who have experienced this unjust treatment or believe in fair business practices to join us in this fight. It's time we stand against corporate exploitation and demand justice. Sign our petition, and let's make a change.
