Demand Nassau County to stop the hazardous odors emanating from Cedar Creek.

Demand Nassau County to stop the hazardous odors emanating from Cedar Creek.
The Issue
I am a resident of Seaford, south of Merrick Road, and every day I am subjected to the horrendous odors emanating from the Cedar Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility. The smell is so pervasive that it can be detected over a 1 mile radius in all directions of Cedar Creek Park depending on wind direction. This is not what one expects from a well-run wastewater treatment facility.
Members of Veolia Water likes to tell us nothing is wrong, they claim their "odor detectors don't sense anything", while neighbors are unable to go outside even briefly without feeling sick. Heck, one of the managers at the plant likes to even tell residents whom make odor complaints they are "smelling low tide, not the plant".
Our community deserves better. We deserve to live in an environment free from harmful odors that affect our quality of life. The persistent stench suggests there may be issues with how Suez/Veolia Water is managing this facility - issues that need immediate attention.
We are calling on Suez/Veolia Water and relevant authorities to investigate these odor issues promptly and thoroughly. If necessary, we are prepared to take legal action to ensure our concerns are addressed.
This is not just about unpleasant smells; it's about our right as residents of the surrounding area to enjoy our homes without being subjected daily to harmful noxious airborne chemicals.
Please sign this petition if you believe in a cleaner, odor-free environment for all residents/business owners. Let's stand together against this ongoing issue and demand immediate action from Suez/Veolia Water and Nassau County!
