My personal experience with abuse resonates deeply with my feelings about Laurel Stucky, a regular on MTV's 'The Challenge'. Laurel's blatant display of bullying, particularly her mimicry of abuse and unveiling of personal details before an entire house of people, sparks a painful fire in my heart as a survivor.

Her actions are a stark reminder of the struggles faced by many people around the world every day, with the World Health Organization reporting that globally, one in three women experience physical or sexual abuse — an all too sobering statistic. It is alarming to witness such behavior on a show watched by millions across the globe, especially when the perpetrator receives positive edits, thus being viewed in high regard by the general public.

Bullying is a serious issue that should never be undermined or normalized. In the United States alone, nearly 20% of students report being bullied, according to the National Center for Education Statistics and Bureau of Justice. This detrimental behavior can have long-term consequences on individuals, affecting their mental health and overall well-being.

It is high time MTV demonstrates its commitment against bullying by ensuring individuals who display such behavior are held accountable. It is in this spirit that I demand that Laurel Stucky, due to her problematic actions, not be included in future seasons of 'The Challenge'. This will send a strong message that bullying is unacceptable in any form or platform.
