The quality of our local education system has continued to decline over the years during the tenure of the current Head of Education in Moray. Schools are underperforming, unacceptably high levels of teacher absence and attrition are consistent year on year, and additional needs support is significantly lacking. The school estate itself is unsafe and not in line with security measures in the rest of Scotland, with recent security events indicating their fragility. All these issues point to a systemic problem within the Moray Council and more specifically, the leadership of the Head of Education. 

It's evident that current strategies and policies are not working. Consistent under performance and inspection results evidence this.

Our children, the future of our region and country, are paying the cost of this ineffective leadership. The situation is critical and it has been going for too long. Teacher attrition rates are alarmingly high, a direct indication of the poor management and the dire state of the school infrastructure dissuades new teachers from joining our schools. If the educational environment isn't conducive, how can we expect our children to thrive and meet their academic potentials?

It's time for the Moray Council to take decisive action. We demand the removal of the current Head of Education. Any leader incapable of delivering an efficient and effective learning environment with decent standards does not deserve to be in the position that shapes the future of our youth.
