Mayor Cara Spencer has signed Board Bill 22, directing $120 million to North St. Louis, including $89 million for long-term tornado recovery. The money is now authorized. The unanswered question is: how quickly will it reach the residents, homes, and blocks still waiting to recover?

More than a year after the May 16, 2025 storm, the city had received more than 2,500 applications for home-repair help. As of late May 2026, only 23 projects had been completed. For families still waiting, every delay can mean another month with an unsafe home—and no clear answer about when help will arrive.

Board Bill 22 requires the Recovery Office to publish quarterly reports and create metrics for tracking recovery spending. But quarterly summaries are only a baseline. North City residents deserve a simple, public dashboard showing how much money has been allocated, committed, placed under contract, and spent; which programs and neighborhoods received it; how many applications are pending, approved, underway, and complete; and when each project is expected to begin and finish.

Sign this petition to demand that Mayor Spencer and Chief Recovery Officer Julian Nicks launch a public, monthly-updated North St. Louis recovery dashboard within 30 days. It should track the full $120 million allocation by fund, program, neighborhood, and project while protecting residents' personal information.

North City residents do not need another announcement. They need dates, dollars, and finished repairs.
