One of the groups most vulnerable to domestic violence are young people, specifically teens. In America, 33% of adolescents experience sexual, physical, verbal, or emotional dating abuse. This rate exceeds all other forms of youth violence (Gibson 2022). Unfortunately, this concerning statistic isn't reflected in our high school curricula. Pennsylvania's Act 55 of 2022 mandates domestic violence education in higher education institutions, but these mandates do not extend to high schools, leaving a gap in education and intervention.
