I am standing up today as a concerned citizen and resident, astounded by the increasing danger our community faces each and every day. The bell mouth entrance of our dirt road has been neglected and the grass around it remains unmaintained. The growth is so out of control, it's obstructing our vision of incoming traffic. We are living in an accident waiting to happen purely due to poor road upkeep.

Each day, the condition of our road not only endangers us, but also our loved ones who visit or deliver goods and services to our area. It's well-known that poor road maintenance contributes significantly to road accidents. In fact, the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation found that poor road conditions contribute to more than half of the fatal crashes in the U.S.

Therefore, we urge our local council to hear our plea and take immediate action. We request the proper sealing of our dirt road's bell mouth and regular maintenance of the grass around it to ensure we can see oncoming traffic clearly. This is a simple yet essential step in increasing road safety in our community. We can wait no longer for actions to be taken only after a tragic incident. Prevention is better than cure. We cannot gamble with our safety.
