The residents of Edmondson Park, a suburb in Liverpool NSW, Australia. 

Like many other parents and residents here, we believe that our children deserve the same access to playgrounds and open spaces as those in other suburbs in and around Liverpool. Yet, we have been waiting for over 10 years for the parks we were promised when Edmondson Park first started to be developed.

Liverpool Council has failed us. Despite repeated promises from the CEO,Mayor and Councillors of Liverpool, our community is still waiting for these essential recreational areas. This lack of action not only impacts our quality of life but also deprives our children of safe spaces where they can play and grow.

According to Australian Bureau of Statistics data (2016), there are over 2,000 families with children living in Edmondson Park. These families represent a significant portion of Liverpool's population who are being denied access to public amenities that should be their right.

We call upon the CEO, Mayor and Councillors of Liverpool Council to fulfill their promises made years ago. We demand immediate action on this issue so that the residents and particularly the children of Edmondson Park can enjoy their right to open space and recreation areas like every other suburb in Australia.

Lack of Ovals/ Sports Parks/ Cycle Paths in Ed Park Suburb

This post is specific to the Edmondson Park suburb.There are no ovals/ Sports Parks/ Cycle Paths in Edmondson Park Suburb. Eventhough there are 3 schools in this suburb ( St Francis Catholic College, Ed Park Public School and the proposed high school) , there are no places for our kids to play.

There is an open area near to Buchan Avenue /Jardine Drive and I am not sure if this was supposed to the place for an Sports oval as per previous plans.. Since the council elections are around the corner, can we all get together to urge the council to look in to the matter of lack of ovals/cycle paths/parks in our suburb?

Let's get this done.
