Since installing the new OBU in end April, I encountered unsuccessful deduction or the need to get my cashcard to pay for my parking for the 3rd times. While such encounter, can be easily resolved with ERP 1.0 IU, it is a totally different story with ERP 2.0 OBU whereby the cashcard unit are placed at unusually difficult to reach area such as mine which is in the middle, deep inside the passenger's footwell.

While LTA has clarified that drivers are given a choice to place the OBU at driver's side, this is subject to feasibility of doing so. In many cases that I know of, including my own car, there is no such option. Hence, I am frustrated why LTA insist that choices are given knowing that such choices are probably not there?

The continued defensive posture by LTA over the weeks amidst the public uproar has only stirred my curiosity why instead of spending time and resources to think about a long term solution to an obviously flawed design, they choose instead to waste resources to defend what is not defensible? 

A lot of Taxpayer's money had been spent on a flawed design. Now more are being spent to justify it. 

Perhaps this is not just about car owners anymore but all Taxpayer?

This petition has garnered much support since it is started but the momentum has died down. I hope everyone can recirculate this to your friends and family to get them to support our call. We are still hoping to get to the 10K mark before we sent this to LTA and MOT. Thank you.
