The Issue

Keir Starmer, leader of Labour Party in the UK and current Prime Minister, recently responded to the Southport protests by broadly blaming the far right and refusing to acknowledge the genuine concerns of the public over the country's current situation. His attitude in dismissing protestor's concerns and not addressing the serious issues facing our country is unsuitable for a leader of his position.

We believe that his unethical conduct is reflective of his disinterest in the pressing challenges the country faces, such as the skyrocketing rates of homelessness and child poverty which have increased by 52% and 73% respectively since 2010 (source: Office for National Statistics, UK). It undermines the public's faith in opposition parties and contributes to the deepening political divide.

We understand that the responsibility of a leader is to listen, empathize, and devise solutions that would help combat the challenges that the country and its people are facing. Starmer's actions demonstrate an alarming departure from these fundamental principles. His failure to acknowledge genuine concerns and show adequate leadership in a time of crisis is unacceptable. As he continues to ignore the real issues, it is imperative that we demand his resignation.

Let us stand together against this lack of democratic responsibility. Please, sign this petition to demand Keir Starmer's resignation and push for accountable leadership.
