Chase McGuire is a sexual offender who was recently arrested for the many charges he has against him, then let out on bond. This petition has been made in hopes that the students of UK and the university itself take this situation, and every other situation similar to this, very seriously. 

I can’t not fight for what is right. We can’t allow the system, that seems to prioritize the freedom of the offender over the safety and well being of the victim, win.

My friend, like so many others who endure such violence, is now dealing with both physical and emotional scars. The trauma of assault is very serious, and it is our responsibility to make sure that those who commit these acts face the consequences. We cannot allow this to be brushed under the rug. 

We want local authorities to hold Chase McGuire fully accountable for his actions and to revisit the bond system that allows violent offenders to walk free far too easily.
