My father, Lt Col Retd Nisar Ali Shahzad, an veteran, was forcefully disappeared on 13th December, 2024 at 5 pm. As his family, we were left in the disquieting shadow of his sudden and unexplained absence. This heart-wrenching incident has not only effected our family alone; enforced disappearances are sadly a growing issue around the world. According to Amnesty International, thousands of people are subjected to enforced disappearances every year, causing immense suffering to their families and friends. 

Lt Col Retd Nisar Ali Shahzad served his country faithfully and his disappearance cannot be ignored or swept under the carpet. We call upon the responsible law enforcement agencies to execute justice, ensure transparency and answer for my father’s disappearance. We urge the public to raise their voices against such human rights violations.
