I, along with many other users in the Scratch community, am deeply saddened and frustrated by the lack of action against a user named ChewingFruitGum. This individual has lied about his age, claiming to be 16 when in reality, he is 21 years old. This deception has allowed him to misuse the platform to groom other users and create a toxic environment.

About a month ago, I took a stand and reported ChewingFruitGum's account to the Scratch moderators, hoping for prompt and decisive action. Despite the gravity of his actions, his account remains active, and his behavior unaddressed. In stark contrast, my own projects, which merely addressed his predatory behavior, were removed under the pretext of 'harassment policy violations'. As a result of these unjust actions, my account now stands at the brink of deletion.

This situation indicates a serious flaw in Scratch's moderation policies, where the authentic voices of those hurt are silenced, while those who truly engage in harmful activities face no consequences. The inconsistency not only hinders justice but also jeopardizes the safety of countless users who trust and rely on Scratch to foster creativity in a secure environment.

We demand that the Scratch moderation team take this issue seriously and act responsibly by banning ChewingFruitGum from the platform. Additionally, they should begin revising their harassment policies to identify and appropriately respond to cases involving genuine harassment rather than punishing those who attempt to speak up against it.
